Hi my name is Karen Levido.
If you would like help managing anxiety, stages of life difficulties, illness, procrastination or difficulty reaching your goals then Clinical Hypnotherapy may be very helpful to you.
Clinical Hypnosis allows us to focus attention without distraction,
to process information and make changes to patterns we may have put in place as early as childhood.
Our decisions can have profound impact on our lives and if we are making them from old ways of thinking it may mean we do not move forward as we would like.
Through Clinical Hypnosis, Strategic Psychotherapy and NLP we have more insight into our skills and resources and so gain a greater sense of self and ability to put these skills into action when needed.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hypnosis
What is hypnotherapy?
In Australia we broadly use the term Hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy may cover a range of practices.
The Hypnotherapy used with my clients is where Hypnosis is a tool for the Therapy. In this case Strategic Psychotherapy.
It is a Brief Therapy, Client Centred.
A relatively fast and effective model recognising and resolving client problems.
(See Jay Haley and Milton Erickson who were the first to favour this modality)
It is proactive, utilising client strengths and resources, while recognising skills gaps and patterns to change in order to move forward.
Hypnotherapy allows gentle, positive therapeutic intervention, allowing the client to be relaxed yet alert, ready for their Aha! moments.
Why choose Clinical Hypnosis and Strategic Psychotherapy?
Because it removes distractions, Clinical Hypnosis provides the space to give meaningful attention to aspects of life you may want to change. Because you are clear, relaxed and alert, it allows you to process information in a deeply focused way rather than the superficial attention we give ourselves daily.
Strategic Psychotherapy is used with Clinical Hypnosis and designed specifically to meet individual client needs. Because of this you are more able to see patterns of thinking and behaviour, to acknowledge strengths and resources you may ordinarily take for granted. You have greater ability to discern where you can take control and where to let go. You develop a more positive sense of self, awareness of others and the world around you.
Is hypnosis the same as meditation?
Clinical Hypnosis differs from more well known forms of Meditation as it encourages Active, Focused Thinking and Imagination.
The Strategic Psychotherapy component adds the language of possibilities, further gently awakening.
This awakening is ongoing, coming to mind as you live day to day to put into practice when the time is Now.
Mostly Meditation is calming, relaxing and a process of letting go, stilling. A very useful practice.
Clinical Hypnosis while calming is Strategic and Active.
Are you going to make me act like a chicken?
This is often asked ‘tongue in cheek’ but I think also with some trepidation before someone is ready to commit to hypnotherapy.
Television shows and on stage hypnosis have lead people to believe that the hypnotist has full control over them, as if they were a puppet. This is not the case in Clinical Hypnosis.
Clinical Hypnosis is different as it encourages the client to be in control. While under hypnosis, you are in full control of the depth of the experience, and of what you choose to take from the suggestions given. Clinical Hypnosis empowers the client.
